But there are two other small gripes I have about this game:ġ.) Some missing characters from the original game ( Where’s Cyclopes, Bison, and Mega Man?! )Ģ.) A sad lacking of character costumes ( I want retro-superhero costumes! )Īnd as it so happens, Capcom seems to answer both of these problems with one solution: DLC. I merely wish there was a little more polish and extra features. There is plenty of action to absorb any player of any skill level for hours at a time. While these two issues seem huge, they really don’t take away from the fun you have in this game. If I’m brave enough to get my butt kicked online, at least let me watch others get theirs handed to them as well! Instead, you sit and see a blue screen with a list of gamer tags that happens to feature the diminishing Hp of the players in combat. When entering a lobby- which can have multiple people all waiting to have their turn to fight the winner- you can’t watch the match that is being played. The other major issue with MvC3 has to be the online matchmaking. The biggest thing that really hit me was the complete lack of story! I know that fighting games have never been the most sophisticated in terms of plot lines, but MvC3 doesn’t even attempt to deliver any story that the trailers even hint at! Hell, even the title provides more of a plot than the actual missions in the game! Yeah, it’s amazing fighting your way through arcade mode with teams of 3, but all the sudden you find yourself fighting Galactus as a boss without any cut scene or previous hint that he was even a threat in the first place! All I ask for is simple story elements to at least mimic some sort of conflict that would tie in the line “fate of two worlds”… what could have been a mediocre story line very similar to Mortal Kombat VS DC sounds a lot more welcoming than a complete lack of one. While each character has their unique set of strengths and weaknesses within their skills, no character really felt too god-like or overpowered… although Dante’s character does come close.īut let’s point out some things I’m rather disappointed about in MvC3. With the ample selection of favorite characters, I easily spent my first hours just switching characters and testing out how they feel. While I’m not the biggest expert on fighting game… by any means… the first thing I noticed was my ability to jump in and feel right at home. What’s more- I’m not even that huge of a fighting genre fan! Maybe it’s the ability to play as my favorite Marvel Comics characters, or maybe it’s the solid core gameplay, either way I’m a sucker for some MvC! So, with Fate of Two Worlds out, how does it stack up to my ever consuming nostalgia of the series? Well, so far so good AMAZING!

While I played my share of Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Tekken, Dead or Alive, and Soul Caliber in the past, it’s always the flashy arcade series Marvel VS Capcom that I love the most. It’s good to finally get my hands on the newest installment of THE fighting series of my childhood.
